So fresh and so clean.

A little reflection on 2023.

2023, what a cutie! I made great friends and continue to meet more. I published a book, continued writing for Mexico News Daily, found yoga teachers in Mexico City that I can learn from.

I’ve (sort of?) improved my Spanish (gracias, Pao! Need a teacher? Email her.), I read a 700+ page book in Spanish, I got to be on a podcast.

I gave in to one coffee a day (make it make sense! Read Why I Am (struggling to be okay with) Drinking Coffee Again), I finally bought a salad spinner.

It’s been a beautiful year for me. It didn’t come without its financial and love-related challenges. But what year doesn’t come with hurdles?

I’m not one for resolutions but, as my friend Andrew says, I’m a fan of fresh starts. For 2024, my “fresh starts” will look like this.

Watching.

Something I’ve been working on for almost 2 years. Letting things unfold without intervention. It’s hard, AF, but it’s exponentially rewarding.

Writing.

I will finish the second installment of my Wander Lust series. I will publish my mini-book, 80 Simple yet Powerful Lessons I’ve Learned in my 30s, in physical form before my 40th birthday. I will research publishing a photo series of Mexico.

Meditating.

I will get back to daily meditation. When I did this in the past, it really changed me. Read about my experience here: How did I go from 213 to ZERO? If you’re interested, follow my friend Jenny Sanchez who has a fabulous meditation guide coming out. I know, because I was lucky enough to edit it!

Saving.

Money money money! I will make it, save it, love it. I’ll pay off one credit card (or more!), and find financial freedom in the form of a stable income while continuing to write on the side.

Hosting.

I am now the proud owner of 21 mezcal glasses, so I will host more parties.

Cleansing.

More temazcals, less phone, please!

Traveling.

Always.

I hope your 2024 is full of fancy, clean, and super-fresh starts.

Happy New Year!

With love,

Bethany
